At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet.

Welcome!

To the website of  Marylin Houle - the writer who doesn't seem to fit into any box when it comes to theme or genre.

I've got several projects on the go, as usual, some of which you can read about on my blog - the blog of a very opinionated lady.

I'm passionate about many issues and will not apologize for being all over the place when it comes to which ones I choose to write about.

So peruse this site, come back to see what's new, and do not hesitate to contact me for any old reason - I love corresponding with readers, fellow writers, crazed fans, and those looking to hire.

Check out Beyond the Pen to see what I do when I'm not writing.

"Writers are magicians. They write down words, and, if they're good, you believe that what they write is real, just as you believe a good magician has pulled the coins out of your ear, or made his assistant disappear. But the words on the page have no connection to the person who wrote them. Writers live other peoples' lives for them...

Writers Write, Other People Talk."

- Shoeless Joe, By W.P. Kinsella

This website is dedicated to George: Every writer needs a cat: for if they didn’t insist on lying on papers, playing with pens, and walking on keyboards, we’d never get a break.

And to Hunter S. Thompson (July 18, 1937 – February 20, 2005), whose words, weirdness, and passion for the truth will always inspire me.
